Retouch and Prepare Scanned Images

Create three scanned image files using Photoshop tools to enhance their appeal in a poster/poster without altering their historic document character, using as many techniques as necessary.

Elements include:

  • Straightened

  • Cropped to image border

  • Clone Postmark and ink marks

  • Colours re-saturated to compensate for scanning washout

  • Sharpened

  • Curves pulled to add more tone depth

  • Resolution has been checked 300 dpi

  • Finished file correctly named and formatted

    • Body copy left aligned

    • Appropriate leading and inter-paragraph spacing

    • Appropriate white space around body copy in relation to size of frame

    • Image frames and caption text evenly distributed

    • Copy text frame aligned beneath canoe girl graphic

    • Image frames aligned beneath subtitle

    • Gradient smoothly executed

    • Alignments of individual elements

    • Overall placement of individual elements on page
